Dr. Subramaniam Rajan, an Assistant Professor for the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment has a research opening for the following project:
Composite materials are becoming the material of choice for a number of structural applications in the structural, aerospace, automotive and biomechanical industries. In the Computational & Experimental Mechanics Laboratory, we work on experiments to characterize material behavior and use the material data in building predictive computer models that can then be used in modeling structural systems such as airplanes, automobiles, body and vehicular armor systems, etc.
- Finite element analysis
- Experiments for material characterization
- Design optimization
- Transcripts required. Letters of recommendation are highly desirable.
- Letters of references
